So I went to Yaoi Con yesterday with kyraensui for one day :3 Here's a short report~

( Impressions compare to last year, Seiyuu Panel (Fanime's guest!), meet up with friends, merchandise pics, Reborn, then Kinokuniya XD; )

It was an interesting day. I was a tad disappointed in some of the con changes this year, but meeting up with people made it more interest :D

And then my dad, mom, and I watched Transformers because Dad bought the DVD. I didn't get to watch it when it was in theatres... but God the movie ROCKED *______* Did so much justices to the Transformers. Optimus Prime was very kind, and Bumblebee was darling.

Kenjirou Tsuda is going to Pacific Media EXPO AND I'M FREAKING OUT AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TO PMX AND NOW WANTS TO GO. Eeeeeeeeeeee Inui... AND Adult Lambo voice. But is November 9-11 WUT ;_;??? Man I want to be in SoCal.

AND NOW I'M LATE FOR CLASS. Argh. Stop doing this to me.

After Eririn showed me her Corda cosplays, I think I'll finally watch it. Very late, but oh well. I'm spontaneous like that. Anyhow, Eririn makes such a cute Kahoko X3 I don't believe when she says she's a cosplay novice! But it seems so cool she'd fly to Taipei just to meet up with peers. Oh man, and she's currently local at SF too ♥ I want to photoshoot them XD!

So, yes, I'm 無聊-ing. After surfing around Baidu and being rewarded by few blog entries, I decided to translate a segment based on them with the help of a Chinese blog. ♥ Here's an overview of the NRLS2007 7/7 (noon) performance.

Things to keep in mind:

• The sources are SekiTomo fans, so the report is very Seki-oriented and doesn't cover every detail XD;
• I read the Chinese translation for help, but double-checked minor stuff with the original. So... this is like a merge of both. ^^;
• Not promising this is error-free, so feel free to correct me.
• I've dropped all the honorifics unless it's used in a dialogue.
• The source's commentary are minimized, and some are omitted in this translation.

( You know you want to read it because the dialogue between Inocchi and Seki is just TOO FUN!! )


Argh, I got so "dokidoki!" and giddy just by reading the report. *__*; It is, after all, in a fan's point of view.

Seeing all the SekiTomo fans are highly anticipating in NeoR Festa 9 (because it's his birthday on the 8th) makes me extremely happy and warm-fuzzled X3 ♥ They all hope that his bday will be acknowledge at the event. And and... what's this? They updated, and apparently Miki will be attending that one day. So the 8th all of Suzaku-gumi AND Seiryuu-gumi will be there?!

Now this brings me my dilemma... what IF I can only choose between these two DVDs? What will I do? *SIGH* Hmm, I guess I know what my commission money will be for.

I finished listening to the Innocent Bird drama CD 2 yesterday night before I slept... and God, it almost made me teary all over again T_T I knew what was going to happen, but somehow... the sorrow carried so well in the drama... especially because there was actually an insert song to it. It's quite unusual for a BL drama, actually, unless the characters sing as part of the plot. Yet, this isn't the case. The singer is not even one of the main casts.

After the miracle, after Shirasagi broke down, the song (track 6) -bittersweet slow piano piece accompanied by a cello and violin- played, as if to emphasize on his loss of a loved one. It's like a song you'd expect to hear to play for a "flashback of the good times" scene. Sure, it isn't hard since they compose bgm for BLCDs anyways, so what's another song? It's just that... how to say it... there is actually to be a sense of dedication in the decision to insert this song... the lyrics are consistent with many of the motifs in the series - 鳥, 夜明け, 十字架, 愛しい人, etc. Evidently a love song just for Karasu and Shirasagi... ♥ and I think it infinitely made the drama "not just another BL drama." My heart ached all over again for them.

Anyhow, my ghost chapter for English got the A+ of the class~! ♥_♥ Let's frame it. And the professor read it outloud to the class too +_+ I haven't been placed on the pedestal like that since 3rd grade (but that doens't even count, since the teacher read every 3rd grader's work outloud anyways!). The class clapped too. OhIsowantedtojustburymyselfthen. Still, thank you Creative Writing class last semester~ I'm flattered...

Though, anyone want to explain to me what teachers mean whenever they say something effectively "creates an effective dominant impression"? Just like how English profs always criticize about my word choices that "impair" my writing, that statement never goes through my head and means nothing to me.

Anyhow, tomorrow I have to research what I want to do for Color & Design class's final project. Find two famous pieces and piece them together so that the composition and colors somehow "have dialogue"... whatever that means too. I'm d00med. Now, I must read In Cold Blood.

Oh yeah, my right knee for some reason has been cramping all day, movement or no movement. Hope it's nothing bad. Maybe it was just the way I slept.

Okay... this kind of ended quite long.

• Was actually offline a good percent and got most assignments out of the way, which is a good thing, because I need to A's the art classes. If I can't even do that for the basic classes, I'll hang myself. +_+ 頑張るつもりです . It is almost the end of the semester. Must work hard.
  


• Yay! I won as one of the "Best Art Special" (Honorable Mention) works in Goku's contest ♪ I get a free sketch from her again and also her partner-in-crime Radittz, who is also an amazing artist. Ack, though I can't think of any requests at the moment. ><


• After a large bowl of BBQ Pork 湯粉 for lunch, two bowls of turkey & mushroom rice, and two pieces of cake today, I'll prolly gain back the pounds I lost. ♥


• Friday: I went to Mitsuwa again and bought many large bottles of C.C. Lemon ^_^;; Loved the drink ever since it was my lifesaver at Japan when I had a severe sorethroat (as I wasn't able to drink or eat anything without pain). I also bought a incense holder set because... well... I've always wanted to have a personal one ♥ The one I bought is from the brand ほんのりお香 , just a little plate with a maple leaf on it. I love incense and scented candles even though I have so many in my room not even lit yet XD; But hmm... might want to work at Mitsuwa in the summer.


• Friday: Kinokuniya the bookstore of doom. Actually, I was there to pick up my Innocent Bird vol.1~3 in Japanese because I decided that I rather own the raws than the English versions. Oh-so-very-adorable(!) back covers of Karasu and Shirasagi COOKING, the elegant color fold-in of Koumori, and the beautiful insert of Beelzebub/Sariel (scan credit to Storm in Heaven). I don't collect many series, but Innocent Bird is one of the few BL titles that I ended up really, really liking and remembering.
  


• Therefore, I have Innocent Bird vol.1 (BLU manga) in English for GIVE-AWAY ^^; Any LJ friends interested? All I ask for is for the shipping payment. The translation is quite faithful, only 3 volumes, and I promise you it is a worthwhile series. Condition is excellent. Cover


• Therefore, I ended up downloading Innocent Bird's BL drama. Nakata Jouji is perfect for Karasu *_* Even though I'm keep hearing the Count (Gankutsuou). MidoHikaru as Shirasagi... I imagined someone a bit gentler. ^^; Even during the smiling parts he sounded a bit stiff. He was, however, really good during the angst parts. And... I totally didn't expect Miki to be Koumori, eeee~ XD He's using his Urahara/Kurz voice, so he voiced a very fun and nonchalant Koumori. Suwabe was Sariel while Okiayu was the sinister Beelzebub ♥ *squeal* Okay, I need to finish disk 2.


• This week I will work on commissions. Must.

HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY Hayashibara Megumi! ♥ ^______^ Thank you so much duo_rei for reminding me of her birthday... She has, for such a long time, been my most beloved female seiyuu, who has not only become a very successful voice actress, but also a wonderful mother of a 2 year old daughter. Megumi also plays a huge role in bringing me to the seiyuu world. A good 8-9 years.

Oh God. The nostalgia of good old school shows. Also the nostalgia of middle school... that period for me was seriously golden. Just hearing back the songs I downloaded back then immediately bring me back the feeling. Probably that was when I was really introduced to areas of seiyuu, Jpop, many series, downloads, WEBDESIGNING, etc. And that was also very beginning of manga being licensed in US, so rather as a mainstream thing, it was just our little network trading off and sharing series.

Phew XD Today I went to visit saramichiru and kimi_kuma , and the day full of NeoRomance goodness went by tooooo fast! Excluding the fact that I was late.
